An action alert from the Gulf Restoration Network
The Pascagoula River needs your help. The Department of Energy is planning to take over 50 million gallons of water daily out of the Pascagoula River as part of the Richton Salt Domes project. This planned withdrawal, combined with all the current uses of water from the Pascagoula River could mean that the River will not have enough clean water left for fish and wildlife and important economic and recreational uses of the River.
State Senator Deborah Dawkins has introduced Senate Bill 2890. This bill would require a minimum flow of water in the Pascagoula River and ensure that the River remains healthy.
Unfortunately, State Senator Tommy Moffatt plans to let this important bill die in the committee he chairs. You can help change that.
Please call Senator Moffatt today and urge him to protect the Pascagoula River. Senator Moffatt needs to hear from the people of southern Mississippi today! Thanks for your support in this vital effort to save the Pascagoula.
